Description

Thousand Trails Lake Whitney, located in Western Hill County, has over 450 acres with 250 campsites. A majority of them located in natural shaded areas. There are 3 distinct camping areas on the property, one that includes pull-thru spots located close to the Adult Lodge and pool area. You can access the lake frontage from the improved foot trails on the Army Corp of Engineers Property directly below the Adult Lodge. Play a game of shuffleboard before you leave the area.


Directions

From Dallas on I-35Take the 1st Hillsboro exit where the 2 I-35s come together. Turn right on Hwy 77 (west). Go to downtown Hillsboro. Turn right on Hwy 22. Take Hwy 22 west to city of Whitney. At Whitney, stay straight (loop 180) into downtown Whitney to Hwy 933. Hwy 933 runs North/South. Go north 5 miles on Hwy 933 to Thousand Trails Lake Whitney entrance on the West side of the road.

From Ft Worth on I-35Exit at Itasca, go west to Hwy 81, turn left (south) and proceed to Hillsboro on Hwy 81. At downtown Hillsboro, take a right (west) on Hwy 22. Proceed to Whitney. At Whitney, stay straight (loop 180) into downtown Whitney to Hwy 933. Hwy 933 runs North/South. Go north 5 miles on Hwy 933 to Thousand Trails Lake Whitney entrance on the West side of the road.

From the South on I-35 Take the 1st Hillsboro exit from the left lane on I-35. SH-81 North. Follow into downtown Hillsboro to Hwy 22 west. Take a left on Hwy 22, proceed to Whitney. At Whitney, stay straight (loop 180) into downtown Whitney to Hwy 933. Hwy 933 runs North/South. Go north 5 miles on Hwy 933 to Thousand Trails Lake Whitney entrance on the West side of the road.

From the East on Hwy 22 Proceed to Whitney on Hwy 22. Turn left (north) on Hwy 933. Follow Hwy 933 into downtown Whitney, turn right at stop sign, go one block, turn left at stop light. Continue on Hwy 933 north for 5 miles to the Thousand Trails Lake Whitney entrance on the west side of the road.
