This 280-acre resort is situated on the Piankatank River, one of the most pristine rivers in Virginia, and is located 13 miles upriver from the Chesapeake Bay. Scattered with hardwoods, pines and dogwoods, the resort offers two piers for fishing, crabbing, boating and waterskiing, along with beach area for swimming. Yorktown and Jamestown are within an hour's drive, as well as Busch Gardens, Water Country U.S.A. and some exceptional museums.
From Richmond and points west: Take Interstate 64 east to Route 33 east, Exit 220 for West Point. At the intersection with Route 17 at Glenns, take Rt. 198 (straight through intersection). At the stop sign, turn left and follow signs to the preserve.
From Tidewater/VA Beach: Take Hwy 17 north to Glenns, go east on Route 198 for 5.5 miles and follow the signs to the preserve.
From Tappahannock and points north: Take Hwy 17 south to Glenns. Go east (turn left) on Route 198 for 5 1/2 miles and follow the signs to the preserve.
From the Carolinas or points south: Take Interstate I-95 north, or Interstate 85 to Interstate 95 north. Bypass Richmond using Interstate 295 north to Interstate 64 east. Proceed using directions above for Richmond.
